Is there a way to set an alert or notification for when a specific item is included in a posted sales order?

    There are some add-ons for this feature that you might like.

    Also, I've seen some companies use recurring sales lines where they enter the desired data, set to automatically insert.  They only issue if these are not supposed to be part of the order lines, they need to be deleted.

    Some more detail would be helpful. Initial idea would be a new table/page to hold detail of the tracked items. Then a codeunit to subscribe to a sales posting event. Check the new table for matching records if found then do something for notifications. Might be a good use case to send the data to power automate and let that handle the notification part. You have connectors for email, teams or even sms.
