Handling Existing Products and WriteIn products

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Dear Experts

I have the scenario as below and would like to know your experience and knowledge regarding this.

- The implementation is to build CRM as front end system for the current SAP as Back end system

- The product this company sold is usually customizable

So here the story goes

- Customer wants to buy a new customized product => Salesman will create an Opp or a Quote and add Write In Products in the OppProduct or Quote Product grids (Because no suitable products are setup in any system for such customization)

- The negotiation process happens outside and once the customer confirms, the new customized Product will be created in SAP.

- Now coming back to CRM, 2 things are required

+ The new Product needs to be created in Product Catalog

+ The respective Opp Products and Quote Products need to be updated with the new Product ID instead of continuing using the Write In Product. Then after that the CRM Order can be created with correct Product ID.

In your experience, how to implement such kind of scenarios. Appreciate for all the supports and ideas.

Best Regards
