Need to Populate Option Set from Create Object Workflow

Hi I am hoping that someone will be able to help me with a slight problem I have with Dynamics CRM on line.

I have created a Workflow to open up opportnities from the Account screen and pre-populate some of the fields based on the settings selected on the accounts entity.

For the text, number and date fields it has been very straight forward and I have selected the corrosponding fields from the Dynamic Values drop downs however a couple of them are option sets and I can not find out how to select them, if I select the field then the Look For Drop Down is blank and I can not select it. is there a way to populate the drop down in these fields as I need to keep them as option sets as their is a chance that the result may change and I do not want users having to use free text.

Thanks

Adam

Option sets might prove a pain alright, but there might be a solution to this.

Are the option sets always a standard set of values? I.e. if it's something like "Priority" and you always have the options "High,Medium,Low", then what you can do is create a custom optionset in your solution, let's say for this example it's called "new_priorityoptionset". Then rather than creating a new optionset on each entity create them as your custom one - new_priorityoptionset.

Once you do that the workflow should allow you to set the option between the common optionset types.

If you can't do this then you'll have to work around this a slightly different way. A possible workaround, but it's a little more tedious, is putting in Check Conditions for each optionset type in the workflow and running independent updates to get the correct values.

If you don't want to do that then you're looking at writing a plugin or custom workflow activity to achieve this.

Thanks a lot for this, It was as simple as making them both come from the same option set, I had two lists and had them both the same but did not actually build them from the same set. Changed that and all is good now.
