Zebra Printer timing out?

We have been printing labels via RMS Manger to our zebra printer. We recently installed a new model and have had no problems with the labels printing. The issue we do have is when we leave the computer for too long or the screen saver comes on. Once we reconnect and try to print a label from Manager after this period of time, the labels will not print out. We have to restart the computer and then any labels we had sent to the print queue will print out upon start up. Any one know what the cause of this is and how I can fix it?

Thank you. I have performed the following steps and will check later in the day after the screen saver has come on to see if this has corrected the problem.

If your USB printer is connected to a USB port on a portable computer docking station, connect the device directly to the USB port on the portable computer. If you face the same issue again, continue with the steps given below.

Disable power management of the USB hub

Note If you perform the following procedure, you may also reduce the battery life on a portable computer.

To disable power management of the USB hub, follow these steps:

    1.     Click Start , click Run , type Devmgmt.msc , and then click OK . The Device Manager window opens.

    2.     Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers .

    3.     Right-click a USB Root Hub in the list, and then click Properties . The USB Root Hub Properties dialog box is displayed.

    4.     Click the Power Management tab.

    5.     Click to clear the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box, and then click OK .

    6.     Repeat steps 3 through 6 for each USB Root Hub in the list.

    7.     On the Action menu, click Scan for hardware changes .

Windows 7 recognizes the new device.

    8.     Close the Device Manager window.

If this doesn’t work, follow the Advanced troubleshooting steps from the Microsoft Knowledge Base article below.

Steps are equally applicable for Windows 7 Operating System.
