Hover Text on Fields

I am using CRM 2016. If you hover over fields in a view you can see the full text. This is good for long fields like 'Description' but when you actually open the record where the field displays this hover text still appears.

Is there any way to disable this on the form? I checked Form Editor but could not find where this option would be.

Hi,

Are you talking about the hover text for a label? This is the description of the field from the customizations area.

I mean the actual 'value' that's entered into the field. So for example let's say we have a view for Accounts and the fields are Accounts|Owner|Description

The 'Description' field is a large text box where users can enter a lot of data. So the nice thing about the hover text is that even though all the entered text may be truncated in a view, if they hover over that text they can see all of what has been entered without having to open the record.

The issue I have though is that when you actually do open the record the hover text appears over that field as well and it's annoying and not needed here because all of the data is displayed anyway.

Is there a way to turn it off for only when you are inside a record?

So the only way to do this is by modifying code? This is not an option through configuration?

For now yes. Hope MS addresses this issue in the upcoming release. Anyway we communicate this to them?

Is there any way to extend the period a field's contents (ie not Label/Description) is displayed on mouseover please? We use CRM 2013 on premises via IE 11. Currently the preview fades after around 5 seconds. I would like to extend this to 30 seconds or even better make it unlimited. I note it is unlimited via Chrome 61.
