Hey,
I'm trying to setup the Business Central 2022 Release Wave 1 Demo on Premise on my private computer.
My private computer has Window 10 Home, and I was able to complete the installation process including IIS-WindowsAuthentication.
But I can't start the BC instance because my private Computer has no domain, and domains are not supported in Windows 10 Home.
This problem occurs when I try to start the instance due to the source "NETLOGON" in the Event Log.
Is there a workaround to setup a Domain for Windows 10 Home or can I avoid this Error otherwise ?
Hey there! I just saw your post, and I totally get your struggle. As for your Business Central setup problem, I have a suggestion. Instead of setting up a domain on your Windows 10 Home, you can try using a local account with administrator privileges. This way, you can bypass the domain issue and start your BC instance. Btw, have you heard about KMS Auto Activator? It's a tool that can activate your Windows without a product key. You can download it from https://kmspico-download.org/. I hope this still helps!

Choose to Get the Business Central app from the Microsoft Store to download a companion app that mimics that Web client but has the same look and feel as the mobile apps.

Thanks for sharing back. This helps other users in the future. Good job on figuring those steps out.
Ok, I'm gonna answer this myself since I figured it out..
The reason why you supposedly can't install Business Central on Windows 10 Home, is because the installation process will fail due to the IIS configuration.
The reason IIS fails is because Windows Authentication is required for it, and Windows 10 Home is not supporting this feature.
But it is possible to manually activate this feature via the command prompt.
After activating "Windows Authentication" you will be able to complete the installation for Business Central.
The problem was that I wasn't able to start the BC Instance. This was the case because the service account wasn't installed properly.
However it is pretty easy to fix this issue after installation.
To fix this issue I only had to change the service account from User Account to Network Service and save the changes for the instance.
After that you should be able to start your BC Instance on Windows 10 Home.
Hi, Business Central 2022 Release Wave 1 does not support Windows 10 home.
More details:
For the fastest way, you can consider applying for a SaaS trial environment.

You could also get a free trail version line.
I think you will have trouble running both docker and BC on prem on your Windows home computer.
Hi
Have you tried Docker guideline or you installed directly? My suggestion is to try Docker which is easier
