Approval for Master Data

Dear All,

i want to make sure, 

Do approval cant be use for master data modification ?

i have searched many example , and the example was for customer table ( customer master data )

but someone told me , that approval only can use for transaction data only.

i have tried create one, and i'm not accomplished it yet, i still stuck , approval cant running , altrought i have clicked the submit button.

please advice, so i could get a better concept about approval in AX 2012.

    You would have to create a new workflow for an individual master. Let's take an example of customers, when you are creating or importing, set  'On-hold' property to 'All' and when WF is approved change hold to 'No'.

    Regarding your WF issue, Did you setup WF batch jobs? Are they running?

    when I creating workflow right ?

    previously I have created query, category, type and approval.

    i'll search on-hold property to all.

    no I don't use batch jobs, but I already assign the approval to user ( my self ) but, in home, workflow history, the status was : workflow activated but I don't get the menu action.

    I have change to false code in canSubmitToWorkflow, but I don't get menu action.

    do I need to make it true ? if yes, why action button doesn't show up ?

    in workflow history, only workflow activated, nothing else, usually we have approval started.

    do I miss something ?

    Take a look also at case management which can also be combined with workflow See for example: technet.microsoft.com/.../dn505750.aspx with respect to product changes.

    "Product change cases enhance the Case management functionality in Microsoft Dynamics AX to help manufacturing companies document changes to products. Product changes can include component substitutions in the bill of materials (BOMs) or formulas, or changes in the production route. Approvals and validations are available for product change cases, so that you can manage the release of changed BOMs, formulas, and routes to planning and production processes."

    You could do something similar for other data.
