I have a user that tried to post A/R and received a "Resource not fond in dictionary" error message. Because of the error, the user was not able to print. We tried going into reports and reprinting but whenever we click print, nothing happens. I am not sure if these issues are different or if they are linked.
What does the error mean and how do I correct it? Also, why can't I print the reports? This happens for all users across multiple workstations.
Thanks,
Justin

Justin, I'm curious if you ever resolved this? One thing I think you could try is to select the modified version of the Posting Journal Report & try to print it. The report itself may have been modified but if nobody ever changed it to modified in the setup window that could be the cause of nothing printing at all.
It is also worth noting that if I try to print any other report, I get a "Report Destination" box and then I am able to print. It seems to only not allow printing when I click Reports > Sales > Posting Journals.
Thank you for the replies.
I did successfully create a new reports.dic file and that did fix the error message. I don't think creating a new forms.dic file will fix the print issue since all the workstations have the forms.dic file stored locally and all three clients are doing the same thing.
Could we be doing something wrong when we try to print? Could it be an issue with our Xerox printer?

We have already considered rebuilding the reports.dic initially, it solved part of the problem related to the error message.
By now, the issue which remains regarding the the Sales Posting Journal report (which is not a modifier report), when you print the report nothing happens at all, which is the same for all the users across all workstations.
I am kinda puzzled regarding the point at which we stopped.
Hello Justin,
When I come across errors like this one the first step I typically take to see if the problem is solved is to recreate the Reports.dic and maybe the Forms.dic if you are using that. Because the reports.dic is typically shared by all workstations, it makes sense that you would get the same error across all of them.
There are a few methods to do this. This KB article explains how to do this. Good luck, I hope this helps.
I just tried it logged in as SA, it does the same thing. I click print, and nothing happens.
Thanks,
Justin
One final question :)
Would this happen for the sa account as well ?
I believe that is correct. Sales is not even listed when I select "All" for series.
Justin
The report with which you have a problem with is the "Sales Posting Journal", it is not one of your modified reports, right ?
The following reports are marked as modified.
Employee Checks Stub on Top and Bottom-L
Check with Stub on Top and Bottom - Graphical
Check with Stub on Top and Bottom - Text
The rest are all default. I am weary about changing those to default since I know the uers use those specific modified reports.
Thanks,
Justin
