Set Functional Currency but there are no currencies listed

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I am attempting to install Management Reporter 2012 on a test server with GP2010 to migrate FRx data and prepare for upgrade to GP2013.  I have installed GP2010 and restored the company database.

When I attempt to configure an ERP Integration the configuration fails.  in the deployment log it states that I must setup a functional currency.

When I go through the steps to set up a currency, Tools, Setup, System, Currency or Multicurrency, there are no default currencies to select from in the drop down.

I created Z-US$, US Dollars, ISO=USD and proceeded to assign it ot the company but the problem still exists, Management Reporter configuration still fails with I need to create functional currency.

Thanks

Log into the company with the issue

Tools - Setup - System - Multicurrency Access

Make sure check box next to US$ or what ever currency you want to use

    Then

Point to Tools, point to Setup, point to Financial, and then click Multicurrency

    Select your Functional Currency

Tim, I went by the office and got new backups of the Dynamics and Production company database, restored them and got to the next error...  I will make a new post.  Thanks for the replies.

So...you're going to restore the production backups over top of the test server again? or you're out of time?

ODBC - 1600 is the RTM version of SQL 2008r2. 2531 is SQL 2008r2 SP1.  Shouldn't be causing a problem.

Bummer about struggling since Sunday.  :-(

Thanks Tim.  The link you supplied had a SQL Query that referenced Table MC40000.  I did not have that Table in the Dynamics Table.  Upon comparing the Production database against the test server I found I was missing other Tables.  I then went into GP, Maintenance, SQL and Recompile, update, create against Dynamics and the Company Database.  Same problem, currencies missing, no change.  I then ran Check Links against the Company Multicurrency Summary Master and on Record 207 I received, "A get/change operation on table 'GL_Account_MSTR' failed accessing SQL data.", Number of results columns doesn't match table definition., and then this continues on until I use Task Mgr to finally end GP.  I tried restoring the Dynamics table from the production database and that caused more issues so I restored Dynamics back.

I checked the versions on both server and they are identical down to the ODBC Driver which is different 10.00.1600 vs 10.00.2351.

I'm to the point of trying to install on the production server now, long weekend coming up and that is when we are hoping to shift to GP2013.  We were just trying to migrate FRx into Management Reporter before upgrading to GP2010.  I have spun my wheels since Sunday on this issue.

Here's the link I was thinking of:

    community.dynamics.com/.../currency-symbol-not-showing-correctly-for-users.aspx

This should allow you to check that the Currency setup is correct.

    Have you seen this thread:

    community.dynamics.com/.../99657.aspx

Same problem as you.  The solution at the end is vague.  Depending on how your restored the database, you could have this mismatch.  May be ask for the fix on the other thread?

    EDJJR,

I ran the Query as you described.  The only currency is the one I defined.  I added, Z-US$, US Dollars, USD.  It has the ISO USD.  I added it because the Currency drop down list was blank.

    thanks,

    Tim, thanks for the reply.

Yes I have performed the steps more than once.  To reiterate what I did, I installed a new server, SQL Server 2012, installed GP2010 and restored the database from the production server.

I have installed MGT Reporter 2012 and fail at configure GP Data Mart ERP configuration.

This server is Server 2012 vs production Server 2008R2/

The issue can also be caused by each currency not having an ISO code assigned.

Run the following statement against the Dynamics GP Database, if the ISO column is blank for any currency, this will cause the DDM to fail.

    select curncyid, CRNCYDSC,ISOCURRC from mc40200

Let me know if the ISO column is blank and the results that SQL returns.
