Hello everyone!

I have a question about licensing in BC. Is there any possibility for user without any BC license to go to through the system and check payment status for purchase invoices? Wheter this user to check it needs at least Team Member License? I assume not, but I would like to confirm it.

Hi

You need license to access BC. As you mentioned you need at least Team Member License. Some method is to create API that can pull the data from BC (still API needs license).

Also, looks like in the future user can have access to BC from Microsoft Team without BC license.

The free Microsoft Teams access will not be useful if the user will check several purchase invoices for several vendors.

Only shared to teams pages can be viewed with out a license.

So i recommend a team member license for this.

Hi, There are two very special licenses in Business Central, Delegated Admin and External Accountant.

For Delegated admin: You must be the partner of this customer and have access to CSP.

For External Accountant: 3 External Accountant licenses for organizations with third-party accountants who wish to connect to Business Central. External Accountant licenses provide all the same use rights as assigned Business Central licenses except access to user set up or administrative tasks.

Hi,

The external accountant has the same rights as a standard Business Central Essentials license, except they have no access to user setup and administrative tasks

you can create upto 3 external accountant but below 6 condition should meet

1. The external user/accountant is not part of your organization

2. you have an external accountant-type license for Business Central

3. They have either a user or global admin role in their Office 365/Microsoft 365 account

4. Their account email is a work address, based on Azure Active Directory

5. Their account email address is enabled to send and receive email, and has enabled authentication for SMTP mail

6. Your email setup is already done in D365 BC, because an email needs to be sent from within the system to the external user’s email address. (Here’s how to set up email within D365 BC).
