How to edit option set dependency/relationships

Hi everyone,

I need to make changes within Power Apps to update our CRM. Currently we manage multiple brands/services within our system and it was setup with an option set dependency which changes based on the first option selection. I copied two screenshots below, where you can see depending on the "Enquiry Type" option, the "Enquiry Sub-Type" option changes.

As an example, I want to add a new field to the option set when "RTO" is selected. I have found the table/object in Power Apps and can add a new option, but it appears under "Allied Health" by default. How can I select/change the option set dependency or relationship to ensure my new option appears under the appropriate list? I'm struggling to find where I would edit this in Power Apps.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi there!

Good morning, evening, or afternoon :) depending on where you are.
Apologies if you've tried these already:

    - open the power apps portal and go to the solution
    - find the table that contains the Enquiry Type & Enquiry Sub-Type fields (likely configured as dependency option sets)
    - go to the Fields section of the entity
    - locate the Enquiry Sub-Type field and open properties
    - Look for Option Set or Choices > you should see the existing options & their dependencies here
    - Add the new option to the Enquiry Sub-Type option Set
    - ensure you specify the dependency correctly (should be a way to map to the RTO selection in Enquiry Type field)
    - this may require setting a condition / or rule that links the new sub-type to the RTO type
    - save and publish
    - test :)

    hope this helps some!

Option Sets in Dynamics CRM do not include dependent filtering with any of the Out of Box Configuration options. This is different than lookup fields, which do offer the ability to filter by another lookup field.

If your [Enquiry Sub-Type] option set is being filtered by the [Enquiry Type], then it is likely being done with a custom JavaScript function attached to the form.

    • Go to https://make.powerapps.com and open your default solution
    • Go to your Enquiry table > Forms and open the Main form in use by your organization
    • On the left side, click on the "JS" icon. This will show you any Javascript libraries in place on your form. The one you are looking for likely starts with "new_" or some other custom publisher prefix

From there you should be able to find a function that filters down your field. It's impossible to tell from our side what that would be, but report back with a code snippet if you are having any trouble.
