Is it possible to get the email address of the currently logged-in user? How does one do this?

I have the same question (0)

You can use the User Setup to retrieve the current user and get the email address from that table. if UserSetup.Get(UserId) then begin....

Thank you, Suresh! This is very helpful!

Is there anywhere the UserSetup object is documented? I'm not finding it in the MS AL documentation...or am I missing something?

I'm still unable to find any documentation around this. Am I missing something?

I'm able to get a User's security id, and the user id, of course, but how am I supposed to access other details about a logged-in user?

User Setup is a table. If you search BC for User Setup, you will be able to see it. You need to configure the email address there.

I do have one follow up question.

What relationship is there between the UserSetup table and the Users table? In my sandbox, I have my user in the user's table, but nothing in UserSetup (until I add to it).

The User Setup table is mainly for the approval / workflow and posting date permission. However, you need to add the record in the User Setup manually. BC will not automatically add it for you.
