Sending print job from print screen to PDF, PDF version of the report is missing lines when compared to the original output

I'm wondering if this is a known issue, as we have found that sending a print job to the PDF printer results in lines being dropped from the first page of the document, with only two pages created instead of three as shown in the PDF version I'm able to create outside of GP2013.

I was able to save the print screen report as a tab-delimited .txt file, then open Adobe XI Pro on my computer and create a PDF from the .txt file, whereby the missing lines were included but there seems to be a page break that might be causing the issue when we try to create the PDF by sending the print job directly to PDF or by sending to a file in PDF format.  Below is a screenshot of what the missing lines and pagebreak look like in the new PDF document:

Is there a setting or something that we need to modify on the PDF printer (using Office 2010 and Adobe XI Pro) that would resolve this issue?

I realized after the fact that my screenshot didn't go through.  I will try again but in the meantime if anyone recognizes this issue please feel free to offer up information that might assist us with resolution.  Feedback is much appreciated.

    Melissa,

Try the following solution from Adobe:  Uncheck the option 'Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts' from the Adobe PDF Settings tab within the Adobe PDF printer preferences dialog box.

To access the Adobe PDF printer preferences dialog box, please perform the following steps: Open the Printers and Faxes (Windows XP), Printers (Windows Vista) or Devices and Printers (Windows 7) folder. Right-click the Adobe PDF printer and choose 'Printing Preferences'. On the Adobe PDF Settings tab, uncheck to option 'Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts.' Click OK to close the printer preferences dialog box.

I second Harry on this one! I've seen this fix the issue with PDF before and similar steps fixing issues with physical printers as well!

I appreciate your replies.  However, that preference is already set as you suggested on the two application servers on which the printer is installed.  We are using Citrix, therefore the mention of the two servers.  I just logged into each server and verified the setting is as it should be.

    Any other ideas?

    Melissa,

Here is an older post, which provides an alternative means of printing using unsupported PDF creators.  Try using this approach to see if the mechanism of creation is the problem.  If it is, then you should involve Tech Support in this one.

Where is the older post, Harry?  Am I missing something?  I truly do appreciate your efforts to help, I'm just not sure where I'm supposed to look for an older post.

Got it, thank you.  We already have PDF writer on our server, so that's not the issue here; I just don't know why it's truncating the data from the first page when it creates the file directly from GP but shows the missing information if I create the PDF from a .txt file, including page break information.  Thank you for your efforts to help, I do appreciate your time.

    Melissa,

It's been a year later. I hope you have found a solution.  I found this post now because I run into the same issue and I resolved it by going one more click.  In addition to what Harry suggested, you also need to change Adobe PDF Page Size to legal, in the Adobe PDF printer preferences dialog box.

I hate to bump a multi-year old post but since this was google #1 hit...

We had the exact same issue. Turned out that it depended on what printer you had selected for the default printer inside of GP. If I picked the end users Laserjet 300 as a default printer in GP, then had it print to Adobe PDF via the print dialog box, it would cut off.

If I set the GP default printer as Adobe PDF, it printed just fine.
