Solution Missing Dependencies

Posted on by 595

Hello All,

I have two orgs Org1, Org2. I have created a sample solution in Org1 and added a new field to contact Main form and added the form, contact entity (only metadata) and new field i created.

I have exported the solution some missing dependencies have been shown but these already exist in target Org2. Hence i ignored the message and exported the solution.

When i imported the solution in Org2, same missing dependencies have been populated preventing the import.

I went to the solution.xml and deleted the "<Missing Dependency>------</Missing Dependency>" and again imported the solution. It worked fine without any errors.

I just want to know the best way to deal with such situations.

Any one has idea about why missing dependencies show up even though they are in target system? is it a bug or any mismatch in target system?

    Hello Raz, i am using managed solution but earlier contact form has been modified using unmanaged solution and i also found that the columnnumber of both orgs Org1 and Org2 is different for the Contact entity.

    I found that the column number is different for both orgs in the Attribute Logical View For example in Org1 for pde_nchstesvisumluftab column number is 10013 where as it is 10015 in Org 2

    Hi Abilash, was this a managed or unmanaged solution? The contact form is shared with another solution then changes to the contact form by another solution could have possibly caused it also?

    Best Wishes, Raz

    Hello this is sample of the solutions.xml

    <MissingDependency>

           <Required key="0" type="2" schemaName="pde_nchstesvisumluftab" displayName="Visum läuft ab" parentSchemaName="contact" parentDisplayName="Kontakt" solution="Active" />

           <Dependent key="1" type="60" displayName="Neues Formular" parentDisplayName="Kontakt" id="{b65e313d-5fcc-40e6-8158-dfb687321942}" />

         </MissingDependency>

    The field pde_nchstesvisumluftab is in the Org2. But when doing export in Org1 it has been in the solutions.xml

    Hi,

    There is surely some mismatch between these two organizations. Do you have any screenshot that you can share ?

    Thanks
