Microsoft Dynamics RMS (Archived)

RMS Hotfix required

Posted on by 175

Hi All,

We have a customer running Microsoft dynamics RMS and we've had to rebuild there PC.

We've used the install CD for RMS and patched upto SP3, then we installed the OPOS ADK drivers for their Epson TM-T88IV.

SInce then we keep getting the following error.

  • Error message when you try to start Microsoft Dynamics RMS Store Operations Manager or Microsoft Dynamics RMS Store Operations POS applications:
    Run-time error ‘430’:
Class does not support Automation or does not support expected interface

We found this article which details the issue, and says we need a patch K2761529

https://community.dynamics.com/rms/b/rmssupport/archive/2012/11/05/hotfix-rollup-2761529-33-for-microsoft-dynamics-rms-2-0.aspx

Does anyone know how we can create a customer account to be able to download the patch, or anywhere else we can download it from?

Many Thanks,

Ben (on behalf of a desperate customer!)

Thank you everybody for your feedback

We found a hotfix, hidden away on one of the install CDs, KB932533. This solved the error 430 and we now have the client up and running again.

The EPSON OPOS ADK has been tricky to configure though. We have the printers and cash draws installed and functioning but the receipts show a Œ instead of the pound symbol £.

In the EPSON OPOS ADK Version2.70E UPOS1.13 under Device Specific Settings, Printer Properties, CharacterSet [CodePage Number] the value was originally set to 997. We’ve tried resetting this number to 1252 and it’s currently set to 850 with no change. Reboots between changes have made no difference.

Can anybody tell us how to make the TM-T88IV print a £ symbol

Thank you all in anticipation and on behalf of our now relieved client

    Ben

Go to Programs in Control Panel. Right click on RMS. Click repair.

It may ask for your original installation .msi. Just browse for it

    Hi Ben,

I had the same issue at a site recently.I had to uninstall RMS and epson drivers and reinstall and that fixed the issue, just as RMS Wizrd said. Also as A says you would need your client's RMS Partner (may be it's you or your organisation) to login to Microsoft Partnersource to get the hotfix. Please email me and i can give you the hotfix.

Uninstall RMS and all Epson drivers (Windows and OPOS).

Install RMS plus SP3 then whatever OPOS driver was originally installed on the PC rather than the current version driver. Select CCO option if prompted. Also make sure the Epson Windows driver does not get installed.

    Hi Ben.

Your customer, is he on Microsoft annual license support? He should talk to his RMS Partner and the Partner can give him the latest updates. For the error You have, I would suggest you update on the latest possible version (service pack, feature pack or CU) and migrate the database to that version... You will need to update the RMS HQ first, then go store by store... And if the customer is only one store (no HQ) it should be even easier.

Contact me if you need more details...

    Kind regards, A.
