how do I disable a product variant ?

hello, 

how does one disable a released product variant only ? see we have bunch of variants that we sell to stores and sometimes we need to disable the variants as we do not manufacture them. has anyone come across this situation ?

    I don't think you can disable product variants once it is created, the reason is for any product dimension group, once any released product is linked to it, we can't disable any of them:

    There are multiple ways to do it. If you want don't want the variant to show on the POS, you can add that item into assortment as an excluded line.

    If you want to avoid users from doing purchase, sales or inventory transactions on the specific variants, you can try enabling the stopped flagged under the default order settings that is available under Released Products >> Manage Inventory. MS recently added a functionality to make the assortment respect the stop flag while exploding the lines.

    You have to 'Exclude' the variant within the Assortment
