hi,
i have three users that get this message when trying to print invoices from SOP.
It doesn't matter if it is invoices in work or ones that are open or ones that are in history. Sfter clicking OK on the above message, the invoice prints. So i'm not sure what window the error message is referring to. Has anyone run into this, and if so, what security privileges did you give the users to get rid of this message?
Thanks.

Great!!!! glad I could help
that did the trick !! Thanks!!!!
then make sure those users have access to the SOP_Dummy_Report_form found on Manufacturing product, type: windows, series third party.
Let us know :-)
Yes, we have manufacturing installed.
Sharon, a quick question, do you have manufacturing installed?
They get the error message immediately after they the report destination window pops up.
From Sales Transaction Entry window:
1.Click on the printer icon or File>Print to open the Sales Document Print Options window.
2.Check the box next to Invoices Blank Paper under Include.
3.Click Print.
4.The Report Destination window appears.
5.Click OK.
6.The error message appears.
7.Click OK.
6.The invoice prints.
The same thing happens when trying to print a historical invoice from inquiry screens such as Transaction by Customer or Transaction by Document.
When I found out about the issue, I changed my own security in our test environment to match the user's, so I could see if I could replicate the issue. I get the error message when I have their security privileges instead of poweruser, so it does appear to be a security issue.
Thats interesting. When exactly do they get the security warning?
i.e. let me know exactly what they click on that gives rise to the warning.
When we know this - we can suss out what task needs to be assigned.
Do try granting them Poweruser status - this will proove its a security issue.
I don't think it has anything to do with modified reports.
Best regards,
Ian.
Hi Ian,
I am the sa and I am also a Poweruser for my own security. I do not receive this error message. The users can print the invoices, but they get this error message before being able to do so. Do you know what task I need to assign them to get rid of the error message? Or do I need to create a new task with access to a specific report? Right now, they all have access to the SOP Blank Invoice Form and the SOP Blank History Invoice Form, which are the two reports that are causing the error.
By the way, no one has removed their ability to stop them from printing invoices. They've been getting this error message for long time, but I wasn't made aware of it because it doesn't actually stop them from printing.
Thanks for your help!
Hi Sharon - No, you don't need the support debugging tool.
This is a user security issue.
The security Task that allows a user to print Invoices has been removed from these affected users. (The task listed above INQ_Sales005 - is an Enquiry Task).
To proove out this - go to Tools >> Setup >> System >> User Security.
Choose one of the affected users, and choose the company they log into. Then note down the Security Roles they are assigned currently (just in case they get changed and you need to reset them).
Then grant them the 'Poweruser' security role to this user, and click save.
Then log in as this user - and test that you can print invoices. If you can, then this proves its a Security issue.
Let us know how you get on.
Do you have a system administrator or a partner that looks after this kind of thing for you?
This is normal GP behaviour by the way- someone has removed the Print Invoices ability from these users to stop them printing invoices.
Ian.
according to the blog, it sounds as though i need the support debugging tool to figure out why this message is popping up? is that correct?
the reports are modified, but the users have access to them. they can print them, so i'm not sure why they keep getting the error message. it is more of an annoyance and doesn't actually stop them from printing the reports. if they have access to the reports, what would trigger this error message, and how do i get it to go away?
