Override Price Does Not Override Volume Discount

In creating a quote, after adding a product, I select "Override Price". I can then edit the price of the item but the volume discount stays locked and is uneditable. This seems like a bug to me.

In general, a price "override" means we know the absolute price and don't want additional discounts applied.

Does anyone know how to unlock the volume discount without creating a whole new price list?

You may be able to unlock the Volume discount using JS, but the value cannot be updated.

When we update the field value, system will automatically override with the calculated value.
