The question is not how, that is easy to say the least. It's just there are many methods. What is the default or appropriate method? I want to create a field in a table -> ApprovedBy, which should store the user that approved the record.
There are 3 methods I am aware of:
1. name
2. RefRecID
3. GUID
What is the "correct" method?
Also there are a few user related tables that all seem like the base table - which is the foundation? I am aware of userGuid, sysUserInfo and UserInfo.
I apologise for the simple question. I reached this point because I've asked the question a few times in the office - the result is that some senior tells me to store the string userId or something, which I think comes all the way back from AX2012 (to me it seems sloppy). I started of with D365 so I tend to want to store a refrecID.
Thanks for reading
