change number sequence format after 3 years in production

Hi Friends,

I'd like to ask what consequence would be, for example, if we update PO's number sequence to "SOI-xxx" from "SO-xxxx", basically starting a new number sequence, what's going to be the impact? Old one still have old number, new one will have new format.

Hi River,

The new POs will be created with this number sequence format. Apart from that, there are no changes. We have had to change number sequences often for our clients without any issues.

Nothing is going to impact, in fact this is a standard practice for many companies, they change number sequence in yearly basis, so we reset this based on the CY or FY.

Hi River,

The sorting of the PO's in your workspaces might get a bit mixed if you change number sequences.

If you have no other integrations to external systems that use this number somehow then such a change should be fine.
