I am wondering if it is possible to add a pop-up window that will warn people at the point of sale of certain information/procedures for each customer. For instance, we rent tools... some of our customers have abused that right and are no longer eligible for rental tools. I would like a warning to pop-up when their name is selected at the POS that will say something to the effect "This customer is no longer eligible for rental/loaner tools". Is this possible. It would really save alot of time in the back office trying to track this info.

I don't know of a way to use pop up messages for customers, only items. If you bring the customer up for every rental/loan transaction you can use one of the customer information fields that show up on the POS screen as an alert. We use it for bad check writers or chronic returners. Just make it stand out like ************* NO RENTALS ************. If you use all the fields you could squeeze a short notation onto one of them or even a shorthand code the cashier would understand, like putting *NR in front of the name *NR Joe Customer
