How to add fields from Purchase Header to Purchase Lines List Page

Good afternoon colleagues

I want to add some fields to Purchase Order Lines list page (518) which are from the Purchase Order Header table (38)

I have added the Purchase Lines list page to the Navigation Pane, and via Develper Environment I added Requested Receipt Date and several other fields from Purchase Order Lines table (39)

(I did this with help from Zhu Yun's blog https://yzhums.com/8876/ and Sean Solberg's https://stoneridgesoftware.com/dynamics-nav-development-for-non-developers-part-6-adding-a-field-to-a-list-page/ thank you to both)

Now, I want to add some fields which are from Purchase Order Header table (38). The procedure is not the same as adding fields from the table itself

How can I do so?

Hi, Yes you can't add header fields like in the screenshot.

There are generally two ways here.
    1. Add a new field to the Purchase line table and update the new field value in the OnInsert Trigger. (Take value from Header)
    2. Add a Lookup FlowField in Purchase Line table. More details: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics-nav/flowfields

Hope this can give you some hints.

    Thanks.

    Hi Lovisa LH ,

As yzhums mentioned you have to add new fields by going to the Development environment and design the the table and add those fields, after adding you can either choose to insert values into those fields by using OnInsert trigger or lookup property of those fields.

    Thanks.
