This Monday our CRM document management system stopped creating locations for new records. We can add documents to records that previously had documents added but if a new record is created CRM will not create the location, we just get the blue spinning wheel.

I updated the list component to the most recent which had no effect.

I do notice that the server received a number of updates included updates for .NET. I am reluctant to uninstall these ae this will not return the files involved  to the previous state

Searching the closest artice I can find is this https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/2982027/an-update-is-available-for-microsoft-dynamics-crm-list-component-for-m which was published in 2014.

This relates to windows 6.1 whilst my server 2008 is windows 6.0.

Any help welcome

To help resolve this can you run network diag or use Fiddler to inspect the network traffic form the browser to see if there are any obvious errors occurring in the request/response.

You can also inspect the CRM server's Event Log to see if any service side errors are being recorded.

Thanks for the reply but I have resolved this isse. It was a net3.5 update on the server, clearly not compatible with sharepoint 2010 which is no longer supported.

Took the updates off and its working again.
