Workflow Email not adding the correct currency

Posted on by 282

Hi Guys,

Ive created a workflow that sends out an email to a group of users to advise when an opportunity closes in our system. My management team love this feature as it gives them real time reporting on when sales are closing deals. We dont have a shed load of deals closing each month so its not taking up alot of space.

My question relates to the content within this email send. See below screenshot.

Account name and Opp name flow in correctly as does the Est Go Live Date and referral partner. ITs the actual rev field that is causing my issue.

As you can see ive selected the Actual Revenue (Base) to appear in here. The base currency we work off is American Dollars so I expect the currency to be showing in USD. This Opp within the system is actually closed with USD. ive had other opps that have a currency tagged as Hong Kong Dollar, yet the currency within the email always appears as euro. What setting am i missing for this to change it because I am lost and cant figure out a way of changing it.

    Hi all,

Just to say on this I found the answer. Because I had setup this rule it was pulling the currency I had choosen on my account under the settings cog on the top right. Go to settings/Options and the formats section. Change the currency here to US meaning it now pulled in the dollar symbol rather than the euro symbol.

Thanks for your reply, No the Account Level has the correct currency associated with, same as the Opp level. I did think of this too, wondering what it linked to the Account level but that didnt add up either.

Here another bit of info on this. So all emails appear with a euro currency sign. Ive had an example of the base figure showing correctly with the dollar amount yet the currency still appears with euro sign. So the background calculations worked to convert the amount to the base figure, but the currency still appears as euro. THis made me think is there a setting somewhere for email sends from the system that might need to be changed?

    Hello,

For those with Hong Kong Dollar, can you ckeck please if the account associated to the opportunity has Hong Kong Dollar in the Currency field.

If so this may be the cause of it.
