Restrict export to excel to certain entities

Hi,

Has anyone come up with / found a way to restrict the export to excel option to just certain entities? I'd be interested in any hacks, workarounds, extreme thinking!

We'd like to make export available for accounts and contacts only, and of course we could create a role with access to export and just these two entities, but as soon as we give this to someone with access to other entities, the export option is valid for those other entities, too.

I wondered about hiding the export button from the ribbon for all other entities, but I think we'd have to get rid of it from Advanced Find, too. Is this viable?

Thanks for the tip, Guido. I'll have to look at the ribbon solution mentioned.
