I just started updating the DYNAMICS database in GP Utilities after installing the year-end update from 18.3.1200 to 18.4.1384, and immediately ran into a table error.
Has anyone run into this, and know the most appropriate way to proceed?
There are multiple places where the GP version is stored in the DYNAMICS DB..
DB_Upgrade & DU000020 are the most prevalent ones.
But you should take a look at this KB post that might help to pinpoint the problem.
Of course this is old and you may need to adjust the queries.
Here is something more recent:

Hi Beat,
Thank you for the reply. I restored the DYNAMICS database, and ran the clear companies script. I got the same error. However I did notice that now getting the error, the Company Detail screen shows BOTH the Current Version and the New Version being 18.4.1384. Do you know if there is somewhere in the DYNAMICS database that I might need to update the Current Version to roll back to 18.3.1200?
Hi,
This looks like a failed attempt to run the GP upgrade.. I hope you have a full backup taken before you started?
Please restore the DYNAMICS database and every company DB that might have been upgraded (or attempted) to go back to the old version 18.3.1200.
After that, I'd run the ClearCompany.sql script that you can find on the Microsoft site, as it looks like you might have had companies that got deleted in SQL, but are still showing up in the Company master table and elsewhere in the DYNAMICS system DB.
Once the script was executed and returns no error, try to upgrade again. This upgrade should run smoothly as I just completed one with the same versions yesterday.
