SUBSCRIPTION CENTER FORM NOT SUBMITTING

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 40

I have created a subscription center page (marketing page) with a subscription center form but when I already tried filling up the form and submitting it, the page is always throwing the error message even though all fields are filled in or populated. Tried changing the type from subscription center to landing page and it works. Please help me why the subscription center is not working.

I have the same question (0)

    Hello Ace Javier,

I tried using Subscription center form in the Subscription center type marketing page. I was able to do it successfully.

    Hi Javier,

How do you add the subscription link on your marketing email? From official doc:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/marketing/set-up-subscription-center

So your contact should visit your subsription center via link in their email instead of opening it directly.

When editing your marketing email, you could add Marketing page with  "Marketing page" tile in Toolbox and then select your subscription center manually.

urls between "Marketing page" tile and dynamic content are different

    url with the tile

    p4.png

there are many params in proper subscription page url

    p6.png

you will see prefill fields because CRM already knows who your contact are, below is my test result(Phone field is blank initially)

The error message is the message being supplied on the marketing page. All required fields are populated but still giving an error.

    Hi Ace

    few questions:

    - what kind of error message is the page showing at submission of a SC form?

    - are you using a Safari browser or some other browser without cookies turned on?

We’re trying to use the subscription center and the marketing form to gather subscribers on our newsletter by sending them the direct link on the form. Are we doing it wrong?  If yes which type of form or page do I need to use for that purpose.

It’s just weird that by changing the form and page type to landing page it works.

    Hello Javier,

How did you add your subscription link? using dynamic contents with {{msdyncrm_contentsettings.msdyncrm_subscriptioncenter}} or  c2.PNG?

Please use the second way to create your link.

The key is that fields are prefilled instead of in blank(you will always get errors if they were blank) in your subscription center page, because CRM already knows contacts when sending emails

    Hope this helps,

This might sound a stupid question but how will people get subscribed to our newsletter if they are not an existing contact? I'm very new to D365 for Marketing.

    Hi Javier,

Could you tell me how did you populate all required fields?

Do you fill all fields manually or some fields such as First Name and Last Name have already been filled automatically when you open the url of Subscription Center?

I just want to confirm whether system has acknowledged your contact info. Thanks.

    Regards

    Clofly

All of them are not pre-populated, we're trying to fill up the form as a new subscriber to the newsletter.

    Hi Clofy,

Great explanation thanks for the time!

One comment though, you should add the subscription center URL from the content settings, not directly as any other Marketing page. The content settings is a special entity devoted to content parametrization (think of controlling centrally your Facebook or Twitter links  in your emails, etc.)

    this will give various advantages:

    - you can reuse your email with different subscription center pages (depending on your needs) without changing it or creating new ones (the content settings is passed by the journey using the emails, it's not hard coded in the content)

    - the unsubscribes count will be more precise

    - you can manage your subscription centers centrally by managing the content settings records, without touching the emails or other entities

    Just a quick note :)
