Solution import error due to Org Chart field parent_contactid

Hi,

I've encountered a problem regarding Org Chart field parent_contactid (contact_parent_contact).
The field got created in Dev (automatically as designed) as unmanaged and when we first exported the solution (1.5.0.0) and imported it to test and production environment it didn’t give us any errors.
We have also added patches without errors.

Now when we need to upgrade the solution from 1.5.0.0 to 1.6.0.0 it works just fine to import it to the Test environment but when we try to import it to Production it says it can't upgrade the solution because we have a dependency on parent_contactid and it can't remove/uninstall the old solution. See more information below.

How can we remove the field in the current solution that’s installed if its managed and have dependencies.

I have followed these once but without luck.

Is it possible to remove/delete it or do I have to contact Microsoft?

Any tips or tricks would be helpful!
