Update field on main form when record is created in subgrid

Posted on by 385

Hi,

I know how to pass fields from a main entity form to a subgrid form when creating a new record.

But I how do I do that in reverse?

So a basic example would be a subgrid that has weekly financial reviews in it, on the main form I would like a "Last Net Revenue" field that is populated when someone creates a new subgrid record.

I'm doing a lot more than this but trying to keep the scenario basic.

I can do this today using Microsoft flow.  but it takes about 10 seconds or so and the person has to refresh the window to see the updated field.

So wondering if there's a native way in dynamics to do this where the field instantly shows up once the new subgrid record is created?

Thanks,

Terry

Nevermind, I figured it out using a real time workflow.  I didn't realize I could do this across forms.  but I just did it and worked perfectly.
