How to Change the Process via Workflow

Hi everyone,

one article I read about the new posibilites of CRM 2016 stated that you could now change processes via Workflow.

Well, what I want to do is change the process of a lead depending on a certain field.

What I did is, I created a lead based on the entity "lead" and filled in the requirements. Now adding the next step to the workflow, I choose: Action --> set process and then in "Entity" I cann't choose lead but only "none(global)"

Why can't i choose "lead" there and therefore select the "lead" processes availible?

Best regards

Daniel

    Hi Daniel,

As your selecting action and entity in it, it means that this set process can be applied to the entities present in system. I mean we can set the target to required entity. An action can be triggered to any of the target that we mention. You can select a single lead in target which is present in action > set process > entity button named "set properties". Let me know if I'm wrong.

    Hope this helps,

    Regards,

Yeah, but the problem is, once i open the processes to set the "new process" i can only find three processes for the knowledge base article entity but not all my other business process flows which i created for other entities. Once i click new and add a new BPF i see that one in this list. What determines which workflows i can see in that list an which ones can't be seen in that list?

Okay, i just resolved my own problem. Thing is we just mirgrated from CRM 2015 online to 2016 on-premise. I can't explain why but CRM doesn't recognize the "old" BPF's as BPF's for the "SetProcess" Action. Therefore you need to open the BPF choose "SaveAs" and copy it. Then it will appear as choice for the "SetProcess" action.
