Adding Project Name to Customer Statement

I have a client who uses project accounting and would like the Project Name to be added to their customer statements. Their customers just want to be able to see their statement with the list of outstanding invoices, and also a project name next to each invoice so they don't have to manually cross-reference on their side.

I've tried to add the field in multiple ways using Report Writer with no success. Does anyone know how to accomplish this in Report Writer? If not, I'm open to other suggestions like SSRS, but we did just set up e-mail functionality around the statements in GP, so I'd prefer to find a solution that keeps the e-mail functionality intact. They are on GP 2013.

Additional question:

It appears you can't "replace" a default GP report such as the customer statement with an SSRS report. What I mean is having SSRS integrated fully with GP so when you print the statements from GP, it lets you select the SSRS report and e-mails automatically as it would with the default report. Victoria's GP Report Viewer may solve the issue, but does anybody know whether this functionality exists in newer versions of GP, such as 2015 or 2016? I've confirmed it isn't possible out-of-the-box with 2013.
