Question Exchange/Dynamics on duplicate email address

Hi

I am new to Exchange/D365 sync and not sure how this is working.

We have following data scenario on contact:

joe A joe@test.us

joe B joe@test.us

joe C joe@test.us

In case a new email arrives on mailbox from joe@test.us

How is this associated /sync with existing contact ? 

Does it know how to get "full name" and create a new contact if "full name " is 'joe D' and same email address?
