Raid 5 Setup using 4 SAS

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Mabuhay!

We are using AMD x3755 Server which has 4 1TB hardisk. Any suggestion on how to setup it for RAID5.

I have tried the webios using the automatic mode. And the disk space now is 2.7TB something. After the installation of Window 2008 R2. My problem is when I go to the disk management theres is a 700GB unallocated space which i cannot access.

I would to setup up it with Raid 5, 4Hardisk (3 is in Raid and 1 backup) or (4Raid and I will partition it in 2?) Is both working? Or what can you suggest on this setup. We will use this server for RMS 2.0 with 47 stores.

Thanks,
Chris

The problem is that the maximum recognizable size of MBR HDD is 2TB, check the below links: -
