eConnect and Transparent Data Encryption

I found a document from MS that says MS GP works with SQL TDE, but I am wondering if there are any issues when SQL Server is set up for TDE and eConnect is being used.

In my opinion, TDE only affects the SQL server layer that puts data onto disk, it is "transparent" to applications, so there should be no issues using it with eConnect, that essentially is a set of stored procedures.

I have to cover myself with the above view by saying that I have not personally used it with eConnect so testing it in a test environment may be a good idea.

We are encrypted and we have no issues with integrations and we use both eConnect directly along with SmartConnect.

This is using the  encryption package from SQL Enterprise which is what I believe you are referencing.

As an aside, we went with a cheaper solution prior (DBDefense) and it caused client runtime issues that still mystify me to this day.
