MS Dynamics CRM 2011 Slow performance

Hi,

We are facing issue in slow performance of MS Dynamics CRM 2011.

CRM is deployed using IFD-TMG with ADFS authentication. There is no problem in the db, we already checked the database and db size is not much big 40-50GB.

The problem is CRM is intermittently slow and fast sometimes and average speed few times. We have checked the CRM inside the server and it loads the main page in 1 or 2 seconds. So no issues in the application or the server. We thought it could be the client network which is causing this issue, but the other applications work normal in the same network. Even the lookup window, transfer popup windows, etc loads after 2 or 3 minutes. We used fiddler to trace the requests, we can 1 or 2 requests just waiting for the response. But I don't know if some of the requests are blocked anywhere in the TMG server, but how it work sometimes. We are having tough times for the last three months because of this issue and still don't have any clue about what is the root cause of this issue.

Please help me.

Regards,

Jayakumar

Add crm site in trust mode.

And you can bypass ms CRM site from antivirus scanning.

You can take help from below link :

    Hello,

Did you try to work with Microsoft support on this.

Our client is a govt organization. The client don't have any control or they cannot change anything on the proxy or antivirus. Is this solution recommended by Microsoft.

No. So far we did not work with Microsoft support on this. If we are not able to fix it for another 1 week then this issue will be escalated and the client will seek help from Microsoft. But I need to ensure that the issue is not in our application or the application server. For both we are the responsible.

Surely antivirus can cause slow performance because of scanning some files, make sure to check that and disable to scan CRM website.

I am sure you might have already check this : msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh204512(v=crm.6).aspx

Security Packages and Virus Scanning Applications

Microsoft Dynamics CRM client performance can also be affected by desktop security software, including malware applications and antivirus programs, which can lock certain files and make them inaccessible to other applications. In addition, some of these software packages include a feature called ScriptScan, which scans all web pages for malicious script and is known to affect the performance of web-based applications such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Most of these programs provide the ability to disable scanning on specific web sites, and if so, adding the URL of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM organization to a list of excluded sites can help to improve performance in these situations.

We have already requested the client for adding CRM to Antivirus exclusion. But still they are not accepting this as a solution. We will try. Thanks.

    Hi Priyadarshi & HIMBAP,

    Thanks for your response.

There are lots of performance counters, can you tell me which will be the right performance counter to add monitor if the issue is not in the application or application server. Whether is there any counter to identify if the TMG server, ADFS Server, or Network affecting the performance.
