Inquiry on Undoing or Canceling Actions in the App

Posted on 13 Oct 2024 20:15:11 by 2

Dear Experts,

While using the App Store Commerce at work, I've noticed that once an action is taken—such as applying a line or total discount—the only way to undo or cancel it is by voiding the line or the entire transaction. Is there an alternative method to reverse actions?

Additionally, this issue arises when declaring starting amounts, performing tender declarations, or safedrops. Once a value is entered, there doesn’t seem to be a way to correct it. Could you please advise if there’s a solution for this?

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,

If you haven't tendered the transaction, the best way to reset a line with discount is to apply a 0% discount which will remove the discount. This can be done on transaction/header discounts as well.

On the declare start amount /safe drop screens, you do have option to change the amount. But if you have a committed transaction, you will need to do another transaction to negate/reverse that transaction.

But, once a transaction committed you can't edit it. This is a design principle for any transaction based systems. If you have done a transaction by mistake, the option correct is to do a negative transaction like return transaction, tender remove etc.
