2009 Database Permission Issue

To All Experts,

I have a situation in my hand in NAV 2009 R2 where a new user has been created and added to the active directory but not created as a windows user or database user in the database. Still the user is able login into the database and make changes, entries as he may seem fit.

Can anybody tell me the reason how the user can access the database without even creating a user in the NAV database.

    HI Jaideep,

Are there any users in database or there is no user in the database?

If there are no users in the database then anyone can access and process transaction in the database.

Agreed with Saurav. Dynamics NAV will only allow the users to login without a account if there are no users available in the user setup table in Dynamics NAV. Check the users are created inside NAV.

    Hi Saurav,

Users are there in the database i.e. in the users, windows login as well as user setup table but as I said this particular is not present.

Is it possible that the Windows Server permission somehow supersedes the NAV permission.

    Hi Tharanga,

I agree with both of you. This is something I am facing the first too.

Is the user in question setup as a Domain Admin? If so then they may have full access to the SQL Server. Or is the user in question setup as a SQL Admin? Same result.
