After starting GP 2013 for first time, GP2013 Utilities error message: problem ascertaining product version info. Check duinstall.log file?

in the duinstall.log - file contains this:

Failure encountered ON 4/7/2014 at 3:43:13 PM. Error: Product 3180 does not support upgrading from version 10.0.1262.
Failure encountered ON 4/7/2014 at 3:43:13 PM. Error: Product 4421 does not support upgrading from version 10.0.1169.
Failure encountered ON 4/7/2014 at 3:43:14 PM. Error: Product 3180 does not support upgrading from version 9.0.30.
Failure encountered ON 4/7/2014 at 3:43:14 PM. Error: Product 4421 does not support upgrading from version 8.0.0.
Failure encountered ON 4/7/2014 at 3:43:14 PM. Error: Product 3180 does not support upgrading from version 10.0.1262.
Failure encountered ON 4/7/2014 at 3:43:14 PM. Error: Product 4421 does not support upgrading from version 10.0.1169.

I ran the hotfix before trying GP, please advise?//

You have to be on GP 10 SP5 to go directly to GP 2013. You have some version 8 and 9 products in there. Hopefully you do not have any data in those product and can remove them from your DYNAMICS.SET file

GP 10 SP5 is 10.00.1868..

thanks for the response. I am doing a new install from scratch and do not have any versions installed.... this worked on another machine ok... not sure what i'm missing here

The older products would be listed in your DYNAMICS.SET file. That is very odd that if this machine never had GP on it before that those old versions would be in that file. If you continue to have trouble, please attach a copy of the DYNAMCIS.SET file to this incident.

Yes Richard is correct. The older products listed in your DYNAMICS.SET file. If you don't have any data in those product, then remove them from your DYNAMICS.SET file. Go to your GP installation folder and find the DYNAMICS.SET file to identify if any older products included. Or Attach the DYNAMICS.SET file to us.

Hi Alan,

It looks like the problems are Analytical Accounting and Grant Management. Try removing the entries for them and run utilities again.

You only need to change the DYNAMICS.SET file. Remember to change the number on the first row to 22. It needs to come down by one for each product you remove. So you remove these lines:

Please attach a copy of the DYNAMICS.SET file. It sounds like those products are still in there. Make sure when you are making these changes that you have full access to the GP program folder on the local computer.
