Hi,

Please kindly explain the scenarios when system updates item's active prices.

There are many entries in active prices tab. I am unable to figure it out. please explain.

Hi Sateesh G,

One reason why AX is doing that are the latest cost/purchase price parameters that can be found in the item master form. If they are ticked, you will get automatic price updates.

Both options(Latest Cost & Latest Price) have been ticked in the item details form.

Please kindly explain how Ax calculated cost price for highlighted entry as shown in the below screen

Hi Sateesh G,

There can be a couple of reasons how the cost prices are updated. One example is by purchasing materials at a higher or lower cost price that has been recorded previously. Another possibilities are production orders that result in different cost prices. Also new cost price calculations will result in an update of the cost prices that you see in this form.

Hi Sateesh,

Your purchasing materials are calculated based on your purchase price and possibly trade agreements. If you are manufacturing and using BOM items - they will be calculated based on your current active route/resources and material latest active cost.

Hi Viesturs Silins,

As per my observations, the price is getting updated even after posting transfer journals also. But cost amount is not same what i calculated manually (Total purchase amount/Total no of pieces). Please explain how cost amount gets update for that particular date.
