Hello fellows,
I would like to ask for a few tips and details about how can i customize a button in a ribbon.
My goal is: In quotes entity, after the quotes been active, the button create a order appears(oob), when the user click in it, it copy the record and put the new one in the Order entity.
Until now, i downloaded and imported the ribbon workbench solution, created a solution contained Quotes and its relatives and Orders and its relatives, Setted the button create Order as customized command and now i am trying to understand their logic.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

    Rrocha,

I  want to try to understand first your requirement here beforing answering.

So, your goal in general is to create a duplicate (copy) Order once user click the Create Order button on an Active Quote?

Because the OOB function here is already there, the button to Create an Order is only active once your Quote is having status = Active.

Once you click this button, it will create an Order and your Quote you can close to Won.

So if it is your requirement, there is already OOB function there.

If you need to create another Order as duplicate record or you want to copy the Quote record here, I'd suggest you to create a plugin once an Order is created, create another exactly the same Quote.

I am confused with this one: "it copy the record and put the new one in the Order entity"

    Hope this helps you.

    Thank you.

I'd look at Aileen's post and see if that's meeting your goals.  If not, you're going to have to write code.  the Ribbon workbench will help you get the UI right, but it's not going to have the logic built in to do anything.  You have to write that yourself.
