Hi Community,

I am assisting a colleague who has stated that this field appears to be a new field/enum value that came in with a recent CU. Can anyone explain what this Field/Enum Type is used for? I am unable to find any information about this option.

I already have information on what the Journal, Quotation, Subscription, Purchase Order, and Return Order. Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Zachary,

This enum value is in AX 2012 since the first release. It was used for the purchase type Blanket order which was an option in AX2009 and earlier versions. This has been replaced with the Purchase agreements functionality in AX 2012.

The DEL_ prefex indicates it is an obsolete object for AX2012, but is used for upgrade purposes to migrate from AX4 or AX2009 to the current release.

This is functionality that was replaced in AX 2012 with Purchase and Sales agreements.

The old functionality was called "Blanked orders", thus the name of the enumeration

So the Blanket Enum Value used in 2009 was just switched to Purchase and Sales Agreements, and it is safe to say that the description from 4.0 still applies: "Use if there is a contract with the vendor and you want to order from the contract. Create a release order to release, order, and invoice items until the contract is fulfilled. Blanket orders have no effect on stock quantities, do not generate item transactions, and are not included in master scheduling (unlike release orders, which do)." Is that correct?

This was used in previous versions but is deprecated in AX 2012 and will be removed in the next version. If you are not upgrading from a previous version it shouldn't be used at all. If you disable the "Keep update objects 6.0" configuration key, it will not be visible anymore.

Hi the colleague here, Am I understanding correctly that selecting "Purchase and Sales Agreement" when creating a PO, has no functionality in 2012 and we should remove visibility to this option?

    Hi Roshan,

Yes. That is correct. Like Anton mentioned it is visible due to a configuration key.
