Hello, 

We currently use Dynamics SL 7.0 with a shared database for 6 entities.  When I wish to get a GL report, Detail General Ledger (01.620.00) I used to be able to go to the Company Selection tab and choose the radio button for Company Selection  and pull general ledger detail information from all the entities concurrently.  This feature recently stopped working.  When I attempt to do this today, I get a System Message 11500 that reads "! Message was not found in message file." and I have to sign out of the current entitiy and into the others individually to get the information.

Can anyone help restore the previous functionality?  Thank you.  Jan

    Well, the "message not found..." is actually a SQL error of some sort.  (I checked messages.csv which is a master list of messages)

    The fact that you are not getting the text MIGHT mean that your workstation is not using the correct drive letter for SL (all workstations have to use the same drive letter that was set up originally)

    The only KB resolution I can find is that this is a custom report, and the customization was not done correctly in Crystal.  Is this custom?

    Hi, Toni and thank you for the prompt response.  The report is not custom.  It is the standard Detail General Ledger.  That said, we use a multi-company data base and the ability to select more than one company at a time may be a customization.

    No, I think it's standard functionality... I just tried it in the Demo database, and it worked fine. 

    Does it fail on all workstations?  It sounds like a workstation issue, for some reason... try it from the server itself??

    Otherwise, if you are SURE you are executing the original report, then Microsoft should be able to help.

    Did you every find out what was causing this?  One of my clients is having the exact same problem with version 7 FP 1.  It happens on every report when you try to do the company selection.

    Hi, Gregory.  Actually we had to put this out to our consultants to resolve.  They did not give me details, but it has functioned properly every since.  Sorry to be of no help.

    Thanks Jan.  If anyone else has run accross this and has the soolution I would appreciate it.  There doesn't seem to be anything in the Microsoft Dynamics knowledge Base on it.
