RE: Organization Hierarchy
Hi,
This last update makes sense and I do agree with you that the information is hard to find. Not all of the shared service operations is working together with the Organization hierarchies. You can find the purposes and a short description here: docs.microsoft.com/.../organization-hierarchies
Out of the box, the next entities are global/shared out of the box
- Admin: Security can be assigned globally, but you can also limit it to certain organizations.
- Finance and accounts: Chart of accounts, dimensions, fiscal calendars, currencies, exchange rates and account structures are global setup. On the Ledger form of each legal entity, you can specify what will be used for the financials.
- Human resources: The data is also global. You can define per employment if the person is an employee or contractor per legal entity. All other data is global; even the positions. However, per position, you can specify a department and financial dimensions.
- Procurement. The organization hierarchies can be used to specify the relation between e.g. business units or legal entities which can be used to specify purchasing policies.
- Collections: Without the organization hierarchy, you can create collection snapshots across legal entities.
I don't know exactly what you mean with the Information Technology, Support services and bidding. I'm not that familiar with the new asset management features to make a short note for you. But still, your question is very broad and extensive.
