AX2012 Development settings

I am patching a AX2012 module so that it can be exported to D365.

I'm new to AX2012 (started of with D365). The environment is very slow (classic third world country issue).

The box takes a massive performance hit when I specify an object in properties. Is there a way to disable the system from doing a lookup? For example if I create a menu item and want to specify the object it calls - I wait about 2 minutes for the text to display. I suspect it is because AX creates refreshes the lookup every time a new letter is typed. Is there a way to turn this off?

    Hi,
Be aware, that the first time you open a form AX does some metadata caching, so it could be slower.

I believe that AX properties will perform a full cache fill the first time you want to specify something like the object of a menu item. But my experience is that it is only the first time after you login and not between every letter typed. If that is the case it sounds like you box if lacking ressources.

Sorry, there is no way to disable that.

    Thanks Anton, much appreciated.

Yes Thomas we have some performance issues, but I don't have 15 grand to sponsor my boss some servers. So then you start looking for other solutions... :) D365 is much faster though (we run it locally).

    Thank you all
