Where is Resource scheduling optimization for Field Service?

Hello,

I am trying to find out how to enable and use the new Resource scheduling optimization for Field Service feature but I cannot find this anywhere! Can someone help with this please?

According to the Microsoft features FAQ page (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics/crm-customer-center/dynamics-365-online-vs-on-premises-features-faq.aspx#BKMK_2016Update1) the feature was included in the December update to Dynamics 365 which I believe relates to the version 8.2.0.561 which is the version my new trial has (created this morning).

I have enabled the Field Service Trial and configured it but cannot find any documentation or settings to show me how to actually USE the feature or if it even exists in the solution.

RSO is an add on to Field Service. It isn't part of the trial.

The trial gives you manual scheduling on the schedule board and scheduling assistant.

Personally I haven't yet provisioned this. You may want to contact your Microsoft partner to discuss how / when this can be purchased.

Ahh, that does make sense. Is it definitely available in the UK? I cannot see it as a subscription purchase in Office365 admin so I am assuming it is either not available or only available if you actually pay for Field Services and then it is an option within the CRM?

Neil is correct and after reaching out to our Microsoft contact it is confirmed that RSO is due in the Dynamics 365 Fall release which should arrive in December and it looks like it will be included in trials and Office365 demos (for partners). This should also be enabled for the UK.

Hello All,

We will have a demo about field service and one of the cool features that we will present is Resource Scheduling Optimization. But unfortunately, we can't access this feature, we went through the steps how to add the feature but we can't find Resource Scheduling Optimization solution option.

Can someone from Microsoft or Field Service staff clarify about this one? how about the license of this RSO?Another question, is it only applies to Resource Type: User? or can be applied to Contact, Account or Equipment as well?
