We have 8 companies therefore 8 separate companies in GP. The companies are not totally similar. The question is do we collapse all these companies into one large Db or keep them separate. Anyone have any pro's or con's with doing something like this. It's interesting that GP allows you to have multiple company setups so is that the answer? Keeping them separate, the only other issue is consolidation of reporting financials. Anyone doing something like this?

We experienced this scenario and identified below points,
There were 5 different companies in GP and combined them into a single company
> when we are maintaining as individual companies, we experienced more routines as every Financial Routines seems to be performed in each company individually
when we have one single company, it is sufficient to perform financial routine just once
> Installation & Configuration
The system allows to have different Accounting Structure and other setups in multiple companies
It is required to have once Accounting Structure and one Setup in Single Company
for Initial one time setup, it will be time consuming for having as Single Company but for Routines it is good to have Single Company.
