Management Reporter CU12 Connection Pool timeout

The following error is occurring when the MR client attempts to connect to the server:
-Front end: "Can't connect to the Management Reporter server. Do you want to specify a different address?"
-Front end: "Connection attempt timed out. Either try again or contact your system administrator."
-Event log: "Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to obtaining a connection from the pool. This may have occurred because all pooled connections were in use and max pool size was reached"

Any ideas?  Normally you could edit the connection string to allow more connections, but since we don't have access to the code that MR uses to connect to SQL, not so much.  I wonder why this issue is happening from MR?
