Choosing the Right Dynamics 365 Solution for a Security Firm

Hi everyone,

We’re evaluating Dynamics 365 for a security firm and need guidance on selecting the best solution. Our key requirements include:

  • Work order creation
  • Dispatching security officers
  • Mobile functionality (including offline work)
  • Real-time officer tracking
  • Customizable security forms (e.g., incident reports, site inspections)
  • Comprehensive reporting via Power BI

At first, Dynamics 365 Field Service seemed like the best fit, but we don’t need asset management, inventory, purchasing, returns, or billing capabilities. Given that, would Dynamics 365 Customer Service be a better choice, or should we stick with Field Service and customize it?

    Based on what you have above, Field Service is 100% the way to go. It hits all of your requirements, including the ones like Mobile Offline and inspections.
     
    I have worked on several Field Service implementations that never touched inventory, Purchase Orders, or invoices. Nothing in Field Service requires this functionality, and it can all be safely ignored without adding any overhead to your implementation. Let me know if you have any other questions on this, but I would not hesitate to recommend Field Service in this case.
