D365 Outlook - Restrict attachments of the emails being tracked

Hello everyone,

I configured D365 Outlook app for some users and I have the below concerns:

1. When an email is tracked for any user that we did the configuration for can we restrict to not include the attachment file(s) of the emails, we just need the email message?

2. Does the email attachments being tracked from outlook consume storage from Dataverse File capacity?


Can you please provide your answers to the above?

    Simply do this works perfect and is how it’ should be done. This will however throw an error so the user will need to delete the attachment before tracking.

    Hi EBMRay,

    Yes, the email attachments being tracked from outlook consume storage from Dataverse File capacity.

    Setting the attachments size to 1 KB would stop any email with an attachment larger than 1 KB from being created in CRM. Keep in mind that the size is after the conversion to base64-format which adds some overhead to the attachment.

    If you want to go for a workflow solution as Sean describes, this is an updated version from the CRM EMEA Support Team which should work on CRM 2016:

    Or you can utilize advanced find and bulk delete:
