Fields not matching in Dev and Test instances

Posted on by 1,017

Hi,

We are using 2015 on premise instance and we have couple fields that dont match between the Dev and Test  environment.

Test is having few additional fields than in Dev and all those additonal fields I see as below for ex:

[new_testentityBase].[new_testfield]

I am not sure how this kind of fields get create din the backend, I am assumin ghtis could be because of the relationship.

Please advise how do I match Dev to look same as Test. Your help id highly appreciated!!

Thanks!

You should use a Solution to move your customizations to ensure the field details remain the same between systems.

In your Dev organization, create a new solution with the Custom Entity. By default this will select all Assets (all forms, fields, etc.) for that entity. Export this and import into the Test system.

This should ensure that you have the same fields in Test as in Dev. Keep in mind that the solution will not delete anything. So if there were fields created in Test, these will need to be manually deleted after bringing in the solution.

    Hi Goutam,

The fields I have mentioned are like a Yes or No Check Box fields. These are not the currency ones.

I have only found this custom entity which have four fields as checkboxes which I dont see them in the Actual field section in the solution

The currency is same in Dev and Test

    Thanks!

    Hello james,

Seems the fields with suffix "base" is system field so you don't  need to worry on that. Generally when you are creating any field type of currency like money , dynamics crm is also creating new field with suffix "base" to maintain default currency value.so it's system field.

Is your dev and test system currency is same?

What are the other additional entity you found in your test instance?
